I made this video because many people have misconceptions about music with screaming in it, tending to generalize it's genre as screamo. As a deathcore fan this is all too prevalent so I made this video to illustrate how different the two are. DEATHCORE: -Deathcore is heavily influenced by modern death metal in its speed, heaviness, and approach to chromatic, heavily palm muted riffing and dissonance. Traditional growls, and screaming are common. Deathcore is defined by breakdowns similar to those in metalcore. SCREAMO: -First-wave screamo uses typical rock instrumentation, but is notable for its brief compositions, chaotic execution, and screaming vocals. It has been described, by music journalist Jason Heller, as "graft[ing] spastic intensity to willfully experimental dissonance and dynamics," indicating a kinship with noise rock. Metalcore is just BAD. Death Metal, however, is really good. So I must compare Deathcore to Death Metal, and by those standards, Deathcore fails on every end. Musically, it's boring and bad, lyrically, it's mindnumbing, and there really isn't much to Deathcore at all. This video will attempt to show why Deathcore sucks, but it's kind of more vague than my Slipknot video. Still, I got my points across, and am willing to argue with anybody willing to present Deathcore's case, be they idiots or geniuses.
