Koreans love this soup especially in the winter time. full recipe: www.maangchi.com Ingredients: 1 Lb of beef brisket, half an onion, water, 12 green onions, 5 cups of bean sprouts, fern brakes (kosari), 1 stalk of celery, garlic, hotpepper flakes, sesame oil, vegetable oil, salt, soy sauce, and black pepper Directions: 1. In a big pot, add beef brisket, 14-15 cups of water, and half an onion, then boil it for 40-50 minutes over high heat. 2. Cut the green onions, celery, and fern brakes (kosari) into pieces about 7 cm in length. Put them all into a big bowl. 3. Put 3 tbs hotpepper flakes, 1 tbs of sesame oil, 1 tbs of vegetable oil, 1 tbs soy sauce, 1 tbs of salt, and some grounded black pepper into a small bowl and mix it. This is your hotpepper oil sauce. 4. Put the hotpepper oil sauce into the vegetables mixture and mix them all up. 5. When the beef is well cooked, take it out and set it aside to cool down. 6. Add the mixture of vegetables and hotpepper oil sauce into the boiling beef stock. Boil it for 20-30 minutes. 7. Slice the beef thinly and add it into the boiling soup. Ingredients: 1. 12 dried anchovies 2. 1/3 cup of kelp, half onion, 5 cloves of garlic, 3 shiitake mushrooms 3. 100 grams of beef, 1 cup of mixed seafood, 3 shrimp 4. 2 green onions, 1 green chili pepper 5. 2-5 tbs of hot pepper flakes 6. olive oil, sesame oil, 2 tubes of soon du bu 7. 2 tbs of fish sauce, and 2 eggs Prepare stock to make tasty Soon du bu: 1. Pour 5 cups of water into a pot and add 12 dried anchovies after removing intestine part. 2. Add half onion, some dried kelp (about 1/3 cup), 3 dried shiitake mushrooms, 5 cloves of garlic and boil it over high heat. 3. Approximately 10 minutes later, lower the heat to low medium heat and boil it for another 20 minutes. 4. Set aside the stock and take out the mushrooms and chop them into small pieces. 5. Heat your earthen ware (or ceramic pot) on the stove and put 2 ts of olive oil. 6. Chop 100 grams of beef and put it into the pot and stir it. 7. Add the chopped shiitake mushroom and stir it. 8. Song: Jaurim's "I'm my fan" (팬이야) Ingredients (for 4 servings): 600 grams(1 ½ pound) of pork belly (or pork shoulder), hot pepper paste, onion, garlic, ginger, green onions, green chili pepper, hot pepper paste, hot pepper flakes, natural brown sugar, soy sauce, black ground pepper, sesame oil, roasted sesame seeds, and lettuce. Directions: 1. In a thick bottomed wok or pan, add these ingredients: o 1½ pounds (600 grams) of pork belly of bite size pieces about ¼ inch thick o 1 sliced medium onion, 3 chopped green onions o 4 cloves of minced garlic, ½ ts minced ginger o 1 chopped green chili pepper (optional) o 1/3 cup hot pepper paste o 2 tbs hot pepper flakes o 2 tbs natural brown sugar o 1 tbs soy sauce o ½ ts black ground pepper o 2 ts of sesame oil 2. Heat up the pan over high heat. 3. Mix and stir all ingredients with a wooden spoon, until the pork is cooked thoroughly. It'll take about 10 minutes and the onion will look translucent and mushy when it's done 4. Transfer it to a serving plate and serve with a bowl of rice, some lettuce, a few more side dishes (if you want), some soup, and kimchi.

How to Make Dukbokki 떡볶이 (Korean Spicy Rice Cakes)


One of my favorite foods! What's yours? This is my version of the Korean dish. I tend to like mine without a lot of sauce. =] ingredients: - 1 package of rice sticks - 2 medium carrots diced - 1/2 onion diced - 2 cups king mushroom diced (optional) - 2~3 TBSP olive oil or any oil you prefer - 2 TBSP korean red pepper paste (seasoned with soysauce, sesame seed oil, and sugar) - 2~3 TBSP of water soak rice sticks in water for 10-15 mins. add olive oil to pan on medium heat. add carrots and onion. cook until onions are golden brown. add king mushrooms and stir for 1 min. add rice sticks and red pepper paste. stir. add about 2 TSBP of water from rice cakes and mix well. cook for about 3-5 mins or until rice cakes are tender and soft. sprinkle on sesame seeds for garnish. enjoy! =] twitter.com

Add onion, carrots, red bell pepper, and jalapeños and sauté until onion and carrots are almost tender, about 8 minutes. Add tomatoes, 3 cups water, beans, white wine vinegar, garlic, and spices. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-high and cook, uncovered, until mixture thickens, stirring often, about 20 minutes. Ladle chili into bowls and serve.

Today we are making a Korean Spicy Rice Cake dish called Dukbokgi and it's being served with water kimchi. Please watch my other videos! Ingredients: - 8 oz of tube shaped Rice Cake (Any shape of Rice Cake works) - *Optional* 20 Pieces of Fish Cake - *Optional* A few ounces of any kind of Beef - 1/2 of an Onion - 1/4 piece of Cabbage - 1/2 of a Carrot - 1 Green Onion - 2 Tbsp of Red Pepper Paste (Gochujang) - *Optional* 1 Tbsp of Crushed Red Pepper (Gochugaru) - 1 tsp of minced Garlic - 2 Tbsp of Sugar - 1/2 Cup of Chicken Broth - 2 tsp of Soy Sauce - 2 tsp of Crushed Red Pepper - 2 tsp of Sesame Seeds - Boil 5 cups of water for Rice Cake. - Slice vegetables all around the same size. - Cook Rice Cake for 3 minutes and then rinse in cold water. - Combined ingredients to make Sauce and bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer until sauce thickens. - Add meat and cook for about two minutes. - Add all the vegetables, rice cake, and fish cake and cook for about 2-3 more minutes. - Finish with green onions and sesame seeds. - Serve hot. This dish is for vegetarians also. You don't need to add any beef, but I like to add beef in mine. This might be a bit spicy for those who don't like spicy foods.
