There are dances going on all over the city over the next three days, but I just managed to grab this one for you before I caught the plane up to Tokyo. AWA rematch 1of2 Greg Gagne(c) vs Adrian Adonis wOrton 1988 Greg Gagne is a former professional wrestler and is the son of the legendary Verne Gagne. The pushes he received while working for his father often led to claims of nepotism. Gagne defeated Adrian Adonis in a tournament to be crowned the first TV champion. Adonis was killed on July 4, 1988 in Lewisporte, Newfoundland and Labrador while riding in a minivan with fellow wrestlers William "Mike Kelly" Arko, Victor "Pat Kelly" Arko, and Dave "Wildman" McKigney. Adonis, McKigney and Pat Kelly were killed when the driver, Mike Kelly, allegedly swerved in order to avoid hitting a moose and, blinded by the setting sun, inadvertedly drove into a lake. Mike Kelly survived, albeit with severe leg injuries. Adonis was tag team champs with Jesse Ventura,Black Gordman,Roddy Piper, Ron Star,Dick Murdoch,and he was named most improved wrestler in 1981,most underrated in 1982.

CM Punk vs. Classic Colt Cabana from an AWA Superstars of Wrestling show at the Cubby Bear North in Lincolnshire, IL. The match took place on December 18, 2001. Complete results of the show: Ring announcer Justin Roberts opened the show with a bad WWF gimmick match. El Conquistador pinned Kimchee. After a reverse decision enforced by Dale Gagne, Brad Bradley was victorious over Brandon Blayze *The Patriot pinned Sir Adrian Lynch. *Colt Cabana pinned CM Punk in an incredible match that broke Punk's nose. *"Sexy" Ace Steele pinned "Iceman" Vic Capri. *Justin Roberts interviewed Tough Enough's Josh Matthews until Dale Gagne interrupted. Gagne mentioned he could never beat Vince McMahon and in order to earn Vince's respect to try and join him-Dale would start his own "Kiss My Ass contest" and claimed that Josh would be the first member to join. Dale was interrupted by Jonnie Stewart who said that would not happen and instead there would be a "kick my ass club" since Jonnie never signed Dale's name on the contract when buying the rights to the AWA title, and Jonnie owned the company himself. This led to a title match for Josh when the AWA heavyweight champion, "The Underwear Model" Eric Priest came out to help Dale. *Josh Matthews over Eric Priest via disqualification. *The Road Dogg Jesse James pinned "Dangerous" Danny Dominion after hitting a flying body press off the balcony!
