Americana tribute/trailer
"Americana" is a film produced and directed by David Carradine. David also played the lead and performed the title music "Let me take you around". Production commenced in 1973 however it was not completed until 1983 due to financial problems and David's other acting commitments. The story line is based around a returned Vietnam veteran who seems to be on as soul searching journey by walking across America. When passing through a the bleak, backwater town of Drury, Kansas he comes across a derelict carousel and finds a mysterious personal crusade to restore it. It is interesting to note the town of Drury in real life sits in the geological center of America and the carousel rests in the middle of town, The Soldier, who is emotionally wounded by his service in Vietnam may be attempting to find personal solice by metaphorically repairing the shattered heart of his country after the Vietnam conflict by carefully tending to the collapsed and rotting carousel. This seemingly simple and kind gesture polarizes the local community who both hinder and embrace his efforts. As he is drawn into the community he is both confronted then challenged by its darker shadows that appear to offer the acceptance and gateway required to finish what he started. This is a significant work of American realist cinema however I could find very little information on the picture or a trailer for it. Soda Stereo were an argentine rock band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. They were a power trio made up of singer-songwriter Gustavo Cerati, Hector "Zeta" Bosio on bass, and Carlos Alberto Ficicchia (Charly Alberti) on drums. Their career spanned from 1984--1997, and was followed up by a short comeback tour in 2007-2008. Soda Stereo began as a new wave outfit influenced by The Police, The Specials, Television, The Cure, XTC, and Argentine rock. Their music evolved toward a heavier alternative rock sound throughout the 90's, eventually drawing influences from classic rock, shoegaze, and Britpop. Soda Stereo were the first Latin rock group to achieve success throughout the whole of South and Central America, where they have sold more than 7 million copies alone. They are considered to be pioneers of the Rock En Español, Ibero-American Rock, and Latin Rock genres. The band established what would become the template for many other popular Spanish-speaking rock music groups. Soda Stereo has topped the all time lists in much of Latin America and in their native Argentina, where they set landmarks in record sales and concert attendances.In 2002 Soda Stereo was awarded the Legend Prize by MTV Latin America, the first prize to be awarded of its kind.

You will be hard pressed to beat this much fun for $30. The Daisy Red Ryder BB gun is pure "Airgun Americana." It arrived on the American sporing scene in the 1930s and has been around ever since. Wisely Daisy has kept the Ryder in basically the same form: wood and steel. There are a few plastic parts but they are high strength polymer and don't seem to detract from the lever gun format that is so attractive to us. The Red Ryder gets its name from the comic book cowboy from the 30s and it's still a winner. Though it is lost on the newer generations, many of us grew up watching John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen, Yule Brynner, Charles Bronson, and other western tough guys clean house with their lever guns. The Red Ryder captures this mystique and packages it into a fast firing, reliable, lightweight, accurate, and durable BB gun for both young and old. In 1938 the Red Ryder was a ground breaking design, setting new standards of excitement because of its repeat fire capability. Even today this simple, rapid fire BB rifle that needs no batteries, CO2 cartridges, multi-step loading procedures, or multiple pumps to keep it in the "fight." It is simple and time proven. Add in a 650 shot BB reservoir and the fun will go on for hours (it does with the Nutnfancy crew...as shown!). Don't expect high velocity from this little BB carbine however: my chrono work showed the guns achieving about 250 to 265 fps.
