ABT's New Nutcracker
On November 7 and 8, 2010, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presented a sneak peek of American Ballet Theatre's new production of The Nutcracker by Alexei Ratmansky, prior to its world premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Watch as Alexei Ratmansky coaches dancers including Veronika Part, Marcelo Gomes, Daniil Simkin and others. ABT dancers performed excerpts and members of the creative team including music director Ormsby Wilkins, set and costume designer Richard Hudson, and choreographer Alexei Ratmansky discussed the process of mounting this new production with moderator Wes Chapman.
